You’ve got questions, we’ve got answers!

Are consultations in-person or virtual?

Many of our clients choose virtual consultations for convenience, but whenever possible, we recommend an in-person consultation because it gives you the opportunity to hold some of our product samples in your hands and feel the quality for yourself.

Why do you ask about medical and sensory issues in your consultations?

We go to great lengths to make sure that our sessions are safe and fun. Thinking about accommodations and accessibility issues helps us with planning for your session. For example, if we know in advance that you have photosensitivity, seizure disorders, or migraines, we may choose to use constant light or natural/ambient light instead of flash photography. What is the typical investment for your sessions?

Our sessions are typically customized based on your needs. For portrait sessions, including prints, our clients typically spend a minimum of $600. Our wedding sessions, including a photo book, typically start at $2000. Click here to learn more about sessions and print options.

What should we wear?

Your outfit choice will depend on the type of session we’re planning. We typically recommend picking something in your favorite colors as a starting point. Another option is to start with one article of clothing that makes you feel most like you and then build your outfit from there. We’re also happy to make suggestions if the need arises.

We don't know where to have our session. What do you recommend?

We've done sessions in every type of location imaginable, so feel confident that no matter the location, we will help you create something beautiful. A good way to narrow down location options is to think about places where you feel the most comfortable, places that hold a lot of sentimental value, and places that you are most excited to be in. For past clients, we've done sessions on the beach, in restaurants, and even in their own homes. During your consultation and planning phases, we will discuss locations that help you tell

I’m awkward, and I don’t know how to pose! What do I do?

The first and most important step is to take a deep breath and ground yourself. Photography is a process, and during the session, we’ll work to increase your comfort in front of the camera. We’ll prioritize movements and body positions that feel most natural for you. One trick we teach all our clients is to act as if the camera were someone you love. We discuss that concept further in this blog post.

What are the viewing appointments like?

The viewing appointments are usually the most exciting part of the process. We show you some of our favorite images from your session, along with possible product options, including albums, wall art, and greeting cards. We also use this opportunity to discuss any last-minute revisions needed before the images are finalized and sent to print. Click here to learn more about our viewing appointments.

We know we want something printed, but we don't know what to get. Can you help?

We don't believe in “hard sells.” We want you to feel comfortable with the product decisions that you're making. The viewing appointment is our chance to show you options that might work for you and your budget. Every now and then, we have clients who really can't make up their minds. In those situations, we recommend some of our folio boxes. Click here to learn more about our folio boxes.
